Boat or yacht fishing in Batumi is not a rod from the boulevard. You meet the captain at the yacht club, run 15-20 minutes to a drop-off and fish, usually horse mackerel on sabiki. Gear is handed out on board, no experience needed.

What you will see
1. Meet at the Batumi yacht club
Meet at the pier. The captain hands out life jackets and gear, you pick a vessel for the size of the group.
2. Run to the spot
15-20 minutes along the shore. The captain sits on a drop-off where fish hold that day, usually horse mackerel.
3. Fishing on the stop
Rods in the water, the captain helps with technique. Between bites you can swim or shoot the city from the water.
4. Return or the fish market
Back to the yacht club or a drop-off at the market, where the catch can be cleaned and cooked. That is separate from the charter.

Good to know
