Gomis Mta lies at approximately 2,100 metres in Guria, not in Adjara or Svaneti. The drive from Batumi takes about 2.5 hours each way.
Tours usually depart in the afternoon to reach the mountain viewpoints before sunset, and a picnic is often included.
Prices start at 120 GEL, although some providers charge more for smaller vehicles.
What you will see
1. Transfer from Batumi to Guria
The climb from the sea toward Bakhmaro and Gomis Mta. The switchback road is part of the day, not just a transfer.
2. Viewpoints above the clouds
Stops at viewpoints around 2,100 m. In clear weather the clouds sit below you; after rain the view can close in.
3. Picnic
A pause at the viewpoint: food and drinks as listed by the operator you chose. This is not a village café, but a table at altitude.
4. Sunset and return
The descent after sunset. It will be cool in the car — a light jacket is needed even in summer.
